The Revenge of Bessie The Kracken

As the great galleons were absorbed by the sea, both pirate and sailor leapt overboard for their lives (sporting their cute - yet functional rubber rings). The battle wasn’t over yet!

“ARG! Send ‘em to Davy Jones men!” Captain Chilli Pepper ordered, brandishing his hooked hand at his nemesis, the honourable Admiral Humperdink.

The Admiral boomed with laughter and straightened out his fine grey moustache, before unsheathing his own weapon, raising a little sword to the sky heroically. “ONWARD MEN!” he roared haughtily and swung the blade from side to side which unfortunately caused his rubber ring to shimmy backwards.

It was a hectic sight, pirate and sailor bobbing with the tide, trying to battle with one another. One of the pirates had taken to popping his enemies rubber rings, another had drank the entire rum rations while nobody was watching, and Bessie the Kracken finally got to avenge her husbands death.

“I’ll gut ye’ like a salmon!” Captain Chilli Pepper threatened, trying to paddle towards the Admiral with one hand sending him round and round on the spot.

“Yes, well… well… I’ll have your guts for garters! Ha! Yes! Garters! … The manly kind of course!” the Admiral called back. Without a second thought the navy-clad creature took his sword, aiming it like a dart, and tossed it towards the pirates rubber ring. Captain Chilli Pepper gasped in horror and covered his eye, surely he was done for.

But alas, the swords handle hit first, which propelled it back towards the Admiral. There was a loud POP followed by a bubbling hiss and the anguished cries of Admiral Humperdink.

“Damn you Chilli Pepper! Damn you heathenish pirates! And damn these silly little rubber rings!” The red raced Admiral bellowed as he sank below the waves and the pirates began to celebrate their success.

“Right Lads!” Captain Chilli Pepper cheered. “Where be the rum?”



Well, there it is! My contribution to the Bring your vision to life contest.

I wanted to do something fun and cute, but keeping it original too. ;) I hope I acomplished this, and I really hope you loved the little tale of Captain Chilli Pepper & Admiral Humperdink. :D

I'll let you decide for yourselves which party is good and which is evil.

Let me know what you think as a LOT of work went into this. :nod:

Characters were drawn with pen, scanned then CGed in Photoshop. :) I messed around with the filters on the background to make it look a little grainy. Try using Canvas filter, blur and Grain. Also tried shading, which is uncommon for me. Super effort there! :D

Thank you. :3 I thought I might have overdone it a bit with all the filters on the background, but I think adding the canvas and grainy effect made the characters stand out a bit more. :nod:

And now to franchise Pirate rubber rings! MUWHAAR!

hahaha, i love it! So much detail, and all the shading, and the background looks great with all the filters and such :)I like Bessie's dead husband in the background XD and the drunk pirate is hilarious, and I love all their expresseions XD awesome!

Epic and fav! I rarely see you deal with backgrounds so it's great to see something behind your characters. The filters you've used on bits like the water look a bit overcooked but other than that, great job! Have a fav. :)
